July ‘08 Update
•July 3, 2008 • Leave a CommentI thought I’d write this post to inform those of you who are involved with the Media Conference event (or even those of you who would be interested in coming on-board too.. It’s not too late!) of the latest developments.
Last week, I had attended a Universities Super Fair, where I had approached HE Institutions for the first time since we created the concept of the Media Conference. The result of this, was that over 30 universities on the day have expressed interest in coming on-board as partners for the event, and negotiations are on-going at this point.
Confirmation of partner universities will be announced soon.
Aims of the Media Conference
•July 3, 2008 • Leave a CommentThe rationale: Media and other creative subjects are at the centre of the government’s plans to make Britain a creative centrepiece in Europe and beyond. At Harlow College we are in the perfect position to become a hub where Universities can recruit the right students for the right courses, where secondary students can gain clear advice on further education and where the media insustry can network with academics to ensure that we train students with the right skills and mindset to compete in a global media industry.
To further this aim, we have launched the media conference at Harlow. On this day, creatives, academics, students and parents will be able to participate in activities, workshops, discussions and networking events.
